Lily Allen shocked fans three years ago when she announced her retirement from the music industry, but now the Smile singer has confirmed that she is plotting a comeback.

Taking to her twitter page Allen confirmed that she has reunited with producer Greg Kurstin to work on new material, following their successful collaboration on her 2009 release It’s Not Me, It’s You.

She wrote: "You will be pleased to know I am currently in the ..studio with Greg Kurstin. No big deal really, I'm just throwing s**t at the wall and seeing if anything sticks."

Allen is rumoured to be writing tracks for the upcoming Bridget Jones' Diary stage musical.
