It has been confirmed that Robert De Niro is set to star alongside Michael Douglas in CBS Films’ comedy Last Vegas. The movie sees a group of retired friends go to the city for a bachelor party for one of their gang who has to date resisted the lure of marriage.

The Hollywood Reporter says De Niro is set to take on the role of Paddy Connelly in the ensemble cast. Connelly is a reluctant party-goer who joins his friends on the trip.

The film will be exec produced by a new company, Good Universe, created by Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane. The screenplay has been written by Dan Fogelman, who wrote Crazy, Stupid, Love and will be directed by Jon Turteltaub. The story sees De Niro and Douglas’ characters vying for the attention of a lounge singer.

The film is due to start shooting in August.
