Will Smith and Denzel Washington are being considered to star in a remake of the 1974 comedy Uptown Saturday Night, according to a report.

Dealine reports that Warner Bros are hoping to cast the pair in the remake. The director of Anchorman Adam McKay is currently in talks to helm the project.

This Means War writer Timothy Dowling has written the new version of the film. The original movie starred Bill Cosby, Sidney Poitier and Richard Pryor and told the tale of two men trying to recover a winning lottery ticket.

McKay is currently working on the recently announced sequel to Anchorman so the production would follow that.
