Johnny Marr has rubbished reports that The Smiths are going to reform. The guitarist took to Facebook yesterday to deny that the group were planning a series of concerts saying he has "got things to do" so wouldn’t be rejoining the band.

He said "Thanks to those with Hearts and Smarts. I don't know where this stuff starts. Not from me. I got things to do. Johnny."

Former drummer Mike Joyce echoed Marr’s denial saying: "After today's reports of The Smiths reforming I can confirm that they are not." Joyce is now working as a DJ in New York.

The Smith recorded a series of critically acclaimed albums from 1982 to 1987.
