Elliot Canavan Doyle and Nollaig O'Connor became the latest contestants to be eliminated from The Voice of Ireland on RTÉ One on Sunday night.

The four remaining acts from coaches Kian Egan and Sharon Corr's teams were performing on the night for a place in the quarter-finals.

Egan's Jim Devine and Liam Geddes secured enough votes to go through directly to the quarter-finals, with Canavan Doyle and Sharon Gaynor placed in the bottom two.

Egan chose to save Gaynor, saying that Canavan Doyle needed time to grow as a singer.

On Corr's team Kevin Keeley and Vanessa Whelan went through on votes to the quarter-finals, with O'Connor and Kim Hayden in the bottom two.

Hayden's performance had been coach Corr's favourite on the night, so O'Connor was eliminated.

There are now just three acts left on each team and on the Sunday April 15 show all 12 contestants will share the stage for the first time together.

The top act from each team will progress directly to the semi-final, with the fates of the bottom two acts on each team to be decided by their coaches.

Team Sharon: Kim Hayden, Kevin Keeley, Vanessa Whelan
