Ronan Keating has denied reports that he is planning a permanent move to Sydney after splitting from his wife Yvonne.

Digitalspy reports that a source claimed earlier this week that Keating wanted to live in Australia because his "career has taken off" there, adding: "He's become a big star there and enjoys the lifestyle."

Keating, however, said that he will never move to the other side of the world because he wants to be near his children.

He wrote on his Twitter page: "I hear some papers are saying I plan on moving to Oz. great country but my kids live in Ireland and so will I."

A spokesperson for Keating also confirmed to the Daily Mail that he will stay in Dublin for six months of the year when he is not filming The X Factor in Sydney.

The singer and Yvonne, who are parents to 13-year-old Jack, 11-year-old Marie and six-year-old Ali, both confirmed their split on Twitter and thanked fans for their "support".
