Singing sensation Adele reportedly fears her new mansion is haunted and has hired a full-time bodyguard to keep her company.

The six-time Grammy and double Brit award-winning singer has had a case of the heebie jeebies since moving into her new 10 bedroom home. The mansion, which used to be a convent, also boasts two swimming pools and a chapel and is said to be filled with strange noises once dark falls.

According to The Sun newspaper, Adele told a friend; "I'm not rattling around here on my own. It gives me the creeps."

The friend revealed that she got scared by; "hearing things that made her jump".

Adele is believed to have hired a live-in bodyguard to keep her company as well as two more security staff.

The friend added: "She is convinced it is haunted. She knows about its religious history and it's a big place to be in on your own in the dead of night. She can see the funny side but she is a sensible girl and knows there is no point taking chances with her safety."
