Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber is moving from BBC to ITV with a new show that will search for a lead for his musical Jesus Christ Superstar, and auditions are set to take place in Dublin and Belfast.
Auditions will begin next month, with London, Manchester, Glasgow and Cardiff also on the itinerary.
There are no further details on auditions at present, but the most promising singers will perform for Lloyd Webber and a panel of judges on the ITV show.
Lloyd Webber said: "Presenting a new, 2012 version of Jesus Christ Superstar for arenas is truly exciting.
"Some of the best performances of this show have been in rock venues and I'm thrilled to see the show return to its roots.
"I'm looking for a rock band that can play 140 songs. I want the whole thing to be about a complete rock band and I want to see if the kids can do it or not."
Lloyd Webber previously appeared on four BBC shows looking for stars for his musicals The Sound of Music, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Oliver! and The Wizard of Oz.
