Paul Rudd has reportedly joined the American comedy series Parks and Recreation.
The I Love You, Man and Anchorman star will play Leslie Knope's (Amy Poehler) opponent in the race for city council.
Industry sources told New York Magazine that Rudd will appear in at least one episode of the NBC series.
Although the casting has not been confirmed by the network, the sources said that Rudd shot his scenes late last year.
Rudd did a vocal guest-stint on The Simpsons last season, and earlier this month was cast in the film Freezing People Is Easy alongside Owen Wilson and Kristen Wiig.
He will also star opposite Emma Watson in a big-screen adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Parks and Recreation returns on Thursday January 12 at 8.30pm on NBC.
