Dream House star Rachel Weisz will star opposite Colin Firth in The Railway Man.

Based on the best-selling autobiography by Eric Lomax, according to Variety, the drama will be directed by Better Than Sex helmer, Jonathan Teplitzky.

The true story recounts Lomax's World War II experience, where he was captured by the Japanese and sent to work on Thailands’ infamous Burma-Siam railroad.

Better known as ‘Death Railway’, 250,000 died whilst working on the tracks and Lomax sets out to find those responsible for his and their torture.

Firth will play Lomax and Weisz will play his wife Patti with Jeremy Irvine playing the younger Lomax during the WWII scenes.

The Railway Man will begin shooting in February in Australia and is set for a 2013 release.
