Don Johnson has been offered a role in the new Quentin Tarantino film by its director. Djanjo Unchained is the latest pulp fiction drama from Tarantino and Eighties icon Johnson is pencilled into to play the role of wealthy plantation owner, and villain, Spencer Bennett. If Johnson seals the deal, which is currently in negotiation, he will join an A List cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Kurt Russell.

If Johnson accepts, critics are predicting a career resurrection for the star of such TV classics as Miami Vice and Nash Bridges, similar to that enjoyed by John Travolta (Pulp Fiction) and the late David Carradine (Kill Bill: Parts 1 and 2). The film’s plot features liberated slave Djanjo (Foxx) and bounty hunter colleague (Waltz) who hook up with Bennett to claim a bounty. But the evil Bennett double-crosses them.

Djanjo Unchained is scheduled to shoot this autumn.
