Stephen Fry’s recent cameo appearance in TG4 soap Ros na Rún, is set to feature in his new BBC series Planet Word this weekend.
Fry travelled to Spiddal in Galway to find out more about the role of the Irish language in contemporary Irish society for Planet Word, which will air this Sunday, October 2.
While there, he filmed a cameo role in Ros na Rún where he played a confused English tourist who was lost in Connemara.
His character wandered into Ros na Rún’s pub, Tigh Thaidhg, looking for directions. While publican Tadhg Ó Diréain (Macdara Ó Fatharta) and barfly Séamus Ó Catháin (Diarmuid Mac An Adhaistair) prepared to have some fun with the tourist, they were the ones left in shock when Fry shared his cúpla focal with them!
The cameo appearance was screened on Ros na Rún earlier this year and you can watch the footage here.
Ros na Rún is broadcast on TG4 every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 8.30pm and you can read more about this week’s storylines in Soapwatch.
