Mel B has said that her husband, Stephen Belafonte, will probably pass out at the birth of their first child.

The 36-year-old singer, who is expecting her third child any day now, told Hello! magazine that she anticipates her two children, Phoenix (12) and Angel (four), will be more help than her 35-year-old husband.

“Phoenix and Angel will be there with me during my labour, which is just as well as Stephen will be a complete nightmare,” Leeds-born Mel B told the magazine. “He'll probably pass out and require medical attention.”

The outspoken star also played a little trick on the anxious expectant father. “I pretended to him the other day that I was in labour and he just went white,” she told Hello!. “He didn't have a clue what to do. He'll be panicking and probably take us to the wrong hospital.”

That hospital is likely to be Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, the same hospital where Mel B's former Spice Girl colleague, Victoria Beckham, recently gave birth to daughter Harper Seven.
