Brian McFadden has warned that anyone who hurts ex-fiancé Delta Goodrem will be "dead".

The singer split from the Australian popstar earlier this year after seven-years together, and Goodrem was recently photographed holding hands with 18-year-old singer Nick Jonas.

McFadden is quoted by The Daily Star as saying: "It's fine, you see it and accept it for what it is. It was positive. She looks happy. If she's happy, I don't mind. But there's a warning from me: If anyone hurts her they're dead."

He also denied reports that Goodrem made the decision to split, saying: "I'm a hothead. If I was dumped, everyone would have known about it. It was a completely mutual decision.

"We both knew what we were doing, we knew it was the right time. It is sad. Seven years is a long time together, you become a massive part of each other's lives. I wish her all the happiness in the world. We're still really good friends."

Goodrem's representative last week confirmed that she is "writing with" Jonas, and refused to deny that there was a romance between them.
