'Mistresses' star Adam Astill has joined the cast of the BBC's medical drama series 'Holby City', with fans promised romance for his character.
Warning: spoiler alert!
Astill will play consultant Dan Hamilton in 'Holby City', and will make his debut on screens next month.
Commenting on his new role, Astill said: "I'm thrilled to be joining 'Holby City' in the footsteps of so many brilliant characters.
"Dan can be charismatic, confident and charming and, even despite having the ability to put his foot in his mouth, he soon encounters romance on the ward.
"However, not everyone will fall under his spell, leading to some interesting times ahead!
"I've been given such a warm welcome by the cast and crew and I can't wait to see what the year ahead will bring."
Belinda Campbell, Executive Producer of 'Holby City', said: "We are delighted to be welcoming Adam on board.
"Dan will certainly bring a spark to Holby General in more ways than one but, for someone who appears to have had an easy passage through life, there are various troubles for our new consultant on the not-too-distant horizon. I can't wait to see how the New Year will unfold."
