Andrew Lloyd Webber says he did not make the decision not to hire Denise Van Outen for the BBC’s new musical reality show 'Over The Rainbow'.

This is the fourth season of the television talent search which Lloyd Webber has been involved with and Van Outen has been on the panel for the last two – 'Any Dream will Do' and 'I’ll Do Anything'.

The show, which begins this weekend, will feature panel contributions from an all new line-up of Charlotte Church, Sheila Hancock and John Partridge (Eastenders).

Lloyd Webber told the Daily Mail "The BBC produces the show, I don't, and that was the bottom line.

"Everybody thought it would be great to start afresh. We didn't do a show last year, I did Eurovision, of course, but we wanted to start anew. There are some pretty big changes and even I was wondering if I was going to be rehired."
