Television presenter Jonathan Ross has been awarded this year's Music Industry Trusts' Award.

The award will be presented to him in recognition for his "hugely influential" role in bringing new music acts to the public.

According to BBC News, Ross said that the award is "an incredible honour from an industry that I have always loved".

"Music has always played a large part in my life and it's been a privilege to not only present most of my musical heroes but to give a leg up to the next generation."

Elton John and Kylie Minogue have previously won the award.
