Australian actress Naomi Watts and her partner actor, Liev Schreiber, welcomed a son over the weekend. The couple already have a 16-month-old boy names Alexander Pete.

The 40-year-old actress gave birth in New York on Saturday, her publicist confirmed.

Watts and Schreiber have been a couple since they met on the Chinese set of their 2006 drama, 'The Painted Veil'.

Schreiber, who was promoting his new World War II drama 'Defiance' last week said he was ready to dash back to New York for the birth. He told AccessHollywood.com "Naomi's been teaching him 'Kiss the Baby,' which basically involves him going up to kiss the bump."
