British actress Rachel Weisz will be unable to reprise her role as Evelyn Carnahan O'Connell in 'The Mummy 3' due to scheduling commitments.
Brendan Fraser has already signed up for the second sequel of the Egyptian action movie, which started with 1999's 'The Mummy'.
Weisz, who won an Oscar for her role in 'The Constant Gardener', had already agreed to star in 'The Brothers Bloom' and Phillip Noyce's Australian drama 'Dirt Music' which is due to start shooting in August.
Martial arts expert Jet Li will star as a villain in the film, which is to be set in China.
Rob Cohen ('Stealth', 'The Fast and the Furious') will be taking over from Stephen Sommers as director.
Filming on 'The Mummy 3' is scheduled to start late this summer for a 2008 release.
