George Clooney is in negotiations and his 'The Good German' co-star Cate Blanchett is in talks to voice the lead characters in the new stop-motion animated adaptation of Roald Dahl's 'Fantastic Mr Fox'.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the film will be directed by 'The Royal Tenenbaums' director Wes Anderson.

It tells the story of a fox who must outwit three farmers, with Clooney in negotiations to voice the fox and Blanchett in talks to voice his wife.

Production on the film will take place in London; 'The Good German' opens in Irish cinemas on 30 March.
