The BBC has announced that BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music are to broadcast Bob Dylan's acclaimed satellite radio show 'Theme Time Radio Hour'.

The show will be broadcast on the BBC stations throughout next year with BBC Radio 2 previewing six programmes from Saturday 23 December to Thursday 28 December.

Digital and online station BBC 6 Music will begin broadcasting the show on 31 December and on every Friday night from 12 January 2007.

Among the themes covered through music on Dylan's show are cars, weather, dance, police and whiskey.

Commenting, Lesley Douglas, Controller BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music, said: "Bob Dylan is a legendary figure and I'm sure these shows will be of great interest to our audience. It'll be fascinating to hear who his favourite artists are and who has influenced him throughout his career."
