Actor Sean Connery has said that he is turning his back on making movies.

The 74-year-old star said he would need a "Mafia-like offer I couldn't refuse" before he would appear in another film.

"He has no plans to do any more films," a spokesperson confirmed. "However, he did make a very famous film called 'Never Say Never Again'," she added.

Connery says his decision comes as a result of being disillusioned with Hollywood. He said that he is fed up of "the ever-widening gap between the people who know how to make movies and the people who green-light the movies".

His most recent movie was 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' in 2003.
