The Red Hot Chili Peppers have entered the Guinness British Hit Singles and Albums Book as one of the 100 most successful artists of all time.

The book ranks artists every year in accordance with how many weeks they have spent in the UK singles and albums charts.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are the only new entry in the book this year, entering the ranks at number 97.

Elvis Presley is currently top of the list after notching up a total of 2463 weeks in the UK singles and albums charts combined.

Madonna, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Queen, Elton John, Michael Jackson and Cliff Richard all feature in the top ten of the list.

Irish rockers U2 are currently placed at number ten in the rankings with a total of 1402 weeks in the UK singles and albums charts.
