Estranged Libertines star Pete Doherty has failed to appear in court today claiming he was too ill to answer allegations of possessing a flick knife.
The singer was due before a court in central London to answer a charge of possessing an offensive weapon.
Doherty's solicitor Frank Brazell told the court that his client was unable to attend the hearing due to poor health.
"He hasn't yet seen a doctor but will do so and we will provide a medical certificate. He is feverish and too ill to come to court," Brazell said.
Magistrates have ordered Doherty to appear at the same court on 17 August.
The 25-year-old has spoken openly about his addiction to crack and cocaine.
His bandmates have forced him out of the group until he is able to prove he has kicked his habit.
