Irish band The Thrills are to release their new album, the follow-up to their best selling debut 'So Much For the City', on 10 September.

They are currently in New York working with producer Dave Sardy (Jet, Dandy Warhols) to finish off the album, which features REM guitarist Peter Buck and string arrangements by Van Dyke Parks.

Released in 2003, 'So Much For the City' sold over 500,000 copies worldwide, going four times platinum in Ireland and garnering a Brit Award nomination and a Q Award for Best New Act.

The Thrills support the Red Hot Chilli Peppers at their Phoenix Park gig on 11 June and Bob Dylan at Stormont Castle on 26 June before touring the US as part of the Lollapalooza Festival alongside Morrissey, Polyphonic Spree and Gomez.

They release a new single, 'Whatever Happened To Corey Haim', on 27 August.
