'Titanic' director James Cameron is to step behind the camera again for another big-budget Hollywood studio film.

Reuters have reported that Cameron hopes to start shooting the project later this year for 20th Century Fox.

He described it as a "science-fiction film with a pile of special effects".

This will be Cameron's first feature film since his 1997 Oscar winning blockbuster 'Titanic'.

He has since directed two documentaries: 'Ghosts of the Abyss' and 'Expedition: Bismarck'.
