Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante is to release a new solo album next year.

Billboard reports that 'Shadows Collide With People' is due next year and features appearances by Frusciante's bandmates Flea and Chad Smith.

The solo album, Frusciante's fourth, is the follow-up to 2001's 'To Record Only Water for Ten Days'.

Frusciante has also guested on albums by Johnny Cash, Ziggy Marley and The Mars Volta.
