Led Zeppelin bassist-keyboardist John Paul Jones is to produce the second album from The Datsuns.

The New Zealand rock band released their self-titled debut in 2002 and have been touring the world for the last two years, including a show in Dublin's Ambassador and an appearance at this year's Witnness.

According to The Datsuns' drummer Matt, "We've managed to write about half the record, maybe six or seven songs. We're going to spend another three weeks next month just writing and rehearsing."

The band are currently on tour in New Zealand.
