'Roseanne' star John Goodman is returning to television screens in a pilot for a new comedy series.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the premise for the project is still being developed but if the show goes ahead, it will mark the actor's first starring TV role since the short-lived comedy series 'Normal, Ohio'.

Goodman received seven Emmy nominations for his work on 'Roseanne'.

He recently starred opposite Bob Dylan in the film 'Masked and Anonymous'.
