Joe Pernice of American band The Pernice Brothers will have a book published later this year by Continuum Books in New York City.

A work of fiction based around The Smiths' 'Meat Is Murder' album, it is part of a short series of books about music, each one dealing with a single album.

Rather than write a critical piece, Pernice decided to craft a piece of writing on the importance of the album to "a nameless, scrawny, horny, American kid suffering through Catholic school in the deep South Shore of Boston."

The Pernice Brothers's new album, 'Yours, Mine & Ours' is out now on Independent Records.
