Irish actor Colin Farrell has stormed the US box office chart taking the No 1 slot this weekend with his new film 'The Recruit'.
'The Recruit' faced tough competition as three new releases filled the top three slots in the US: horror sequel 'Final Destination 2' was in second place, followed by motorbike drama 'Biker Boyz'.
'The Recruit' is a spy thriller, featuring Al Pacino as a CIA headhunter who persuades Farrell's character to sign up at the agency's intense training ground. It took $16.5m at cinemas over the weekend.
Comedy 'Kangaroo Jack' fell from two to four on the box office chart, followed by last week's number one, horror 'Darkness Falls'.
'Chicago' is at number six with 'The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers', 'Just Married', 'Catch Me If You Can' and 'About Schmidt' making up the rest of the top ten.
'The Recruit' is set for release in Ireland on 28 March.
