PJ Harvey has said that she is nearly finished her sixth studio album, the follow up to 2000's Mercury Music Prize winner 'Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea'.

The singer told BBC Radio 1 that the new album is both "ugly and disturbing".

Harvey plans to release it later this year and will showcase songs from the album when she plays this year's Glastonbury festival.

She is also collaborating with Queens Of The Stone Age for the ninth 'Desert Sessions' album.
