Surprise box office smash hit 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' has passed the $100million mark in the US.
The film, which opens in Ireland this Friday, received a limited release in the US four months ago.
It is now set to become one of the most profitable independent films ever made.
The feel-good romantic comedy, produced by Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, had a budget of $5million. It has taken $110.7 million so far in the US.
The film tells the story of a plain, 30 year-old-Greek-American woman, who struggles to break away from her large, loving, highly controlling family.
'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' opens across Ireland on 20 September 2002.
