'Collateral Damage', starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, has topped the US box office grossing $15.2 million on its debut weekend.

Schwarzenegger plays a vengeful Los Angeles firefighter who takes on guerrillas in Colombia in the action-packed movie.

The release of 'Collateral Damage' was postponed for four months following the September 11 terrorist attacks in the US, but no content was changed.

The film knocked Ridley Scott's war film 'Black Hawk Down' off the top spot.

This is the first lead role in a hit movie for the Austrian muscleman since 1994's 'True Lives'; his last time at number one on the box office charts was with 1997's 'Batman And Robin'.
