U2 are among the nominees for this year's 'South Bank Show' awards.

Their album 'All That You Can't Leave Behind' faces competition from PJ Harvey's Mercury Music Prize winning 'Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea' and rapper Roots Manuva's 'Run Come Save Me' in the pop music category.

'The Beckett on Film ' series has been nominated in the television category while Irish playwright Conor McPherson's 'Port Authority' has made the theatre shortlist.

The nominees in the film category are: 'Sexy Beast', 'Bridget Jones's Diary' and 'The Last Resort'.

The awards take place in London on February 2 with the ceremony broadcast during the 'South Bank Show' on ITV on February 10.
