The cover of The Clash's album 'London Calling' has been named the greatest photo in rock history.

The photo, which shows Clash bassist Paul Simonon demolishing his guitar at a New York show in 1979, came top in a poll in Q Magazine.

A photo of David Bowie by Terry O'Neill came second, while Jim Marshall's 1966 shot of the Beatles in New York's Candlestick Park was third.
