Elijah Wood, Liv Tyler and Sean Bean were among the stars who turned out for the 'Lord of the Rings' movie premiere in London last night.

The three cast members were joined by director Peter Jackson and film legend Christopher Lee at the screening of 'The Fellowship of the Ring'.

Speaking to reporters Lee, who plays the wizard Saruman, said that the film would go down in cinema history.

Two more instalments of the 'Rings' story have already been filmed and will be released in the next two years.

All three were shot simultaneously in New Zealand to save on costs and time.

'The Fellowship of the Ring' opens worldwide on December 19 and pundits expect a Christmas box office battle between the movie and the recent 'Harry Potter' adaptation.
