Funeral arrangements are being made for the painter, Derek Hill, who died after a long illness at a London Hospital yesterday. He was 83. Although the arrangements have not been finalised, it is understood that he will be buried in the south of England with his parents. His friends say that they hope a memorial service for him will be held on Tory Island where he had lived for long periods. Mr Hill was made an honorary Irish citizen last year and was awarded the CBE in 1997.
