The Tubridy Show spends Intercultural Week in Clonakilty in west Cork, a region that has seen immigration in the 1970s and 1980s as well as today. Ryan meets people from both generations to hear how the spectacular scenery and freedom to explore alternative lifestyles brought the first immigrants, while more recent arrivals have come in search of work.

Radio Drama - Between Storeys

RTÉ Radio presents a comical play about multicultural Ireland that looks at place and identity in our capital’s changing cityscape. Gavin Corbett’s play, which was developed by RTÉ through an actors’ workshop, features Nigerian, Congolese, Polish and Irish voices.

Rhythms of Life

Rhythms of Life on RTÉ Radio 1
features the sounds of multicultural Ireland in a short series of four programmes. On Thursday 10 April at 9.02pm, we’re in ‘Little Brazil’ – Gort, Co Galway - to hear music and conversation for the local Brazilian community. In the two weeks following, hear the Rhythms of Life of the Polish and Chinese communities.

The Blue of the Night

Carl Corcoran is joined by Rachel Blech for a nightly excursion through music down the centuries, jazz, classical, trad, world, secular and sacred. During Intercultural & Anti-Racism Week, Rachel Blech interviews immigrants from Brazil, Lebanon, Poland and Kurdistan to find out how they are getting on with their lives in Ireland and to share with us the music that ‘brings them back home’.
