Rewind 4Ever: The History of UK Garage

Rewind 4Ever: The History of UK Garage - official Irish screening & European premiere.

Alex Lawton and Visual Vybe's documentary film "Rewind 4Ever" chronicles the birth and the rise of the most successful and much loved genre to ever emerge from London's underground music scene. Alex Lawton's passionate & in-depth movie uncovers the untold story as told by those who created it - featuring legends such as Grant Nelson, DJ Spoony, Karl "Tuff Enough" Brown and Todd Edwards. It is a rare insight into a sound that defined an entire generation and is still prevalent to this day, inspiring new generations as the reach of the UK Garage scene can be found in much of the sound emitting from the UK today.

23rd November 2013 @ The Bernard Shaw, 11-12 South Richmond Street, Dublin 2. FREE ENTRY!

The screening begins at 7pm, followed by a Q&A with film-maker Alex Lawton, then finishing off with a night of UK Garage with Jon Pierce (Mixed Up, RTE Pulse) and DJ Obese (Dirty Dubsters, Irish Moss Records) featuring tracks from the movie and many other classics from the artists and the labels of the time.

There will be plenty of news & updates on Mixed Up each Sunday with Jon Pierce from 12-2pm including competitions & prizes on the lead up to the night. Alex Lawton will also be in the studio the day after the event on the 24th November discussing the movie, what inspired him to set upon the enormous task of making it, and to chat about all things UKG. He will also be giving away a couple of DVD's on the show...so you can get a chance to win a copy and own a piece of musical history! :)
