RTÉ Dance On The Box
Tappers, twirlers and tutus, leotards, pirouettes and even a few jigs and reels – the 2008 Dublin Dance Festival and RTÉ Dance On The Box kicks off on 17 April.
Performers from the USA, Europe and the coolest town on the planet, Reykjavik, join the cream of Ireland’s dancers as they hoof across stages, streets and screens from the Abbey Theatre and Project to Grand Canal Square and RTÉ Television.
And the Arts Council and RTÉ have got together again to bring television viewers another four short dance films courtesy of RTÉ Dance On The Box. They’ll be premiered on RTÉ Two as part of the Festival, starting on Monday 28 April, and then screened in the open air in Dublin’s Meeting House Square.
The four films produced through RTÉ Dance On The Box for the last Dance Festival in 2006 were watched by over half a million viewers and went on to over thirty dance and film festivals around the world. Take another look at these global success stories here.
