New ‘Picture Palace’ in Rathmines

Published: 10 June 1913

Large crowds have been flocking this week to the new Picture Palace in Rathmines, Dublin to see the film of this year's Epsom Derby.

The film, The Derby, from start to finish shows clearly the dramatic incident involving the suffragette Emily Davison and the King's horse that left both Ms. Davison and jockey Herbert Jones hospitalised.

Also showing is a drama entitled The Black Countess, a French film directed by René Leprince and Ferdinand Zecca, and a full programme of other features which are shown all week, beginning at 3pm and running all the way through to 10.30pm.
