Thieves Arrested After Police Chase

Published: 20 June 1913

Early this morning two young men, described by police as ‘well-dressed’, were arrested after a series of break-ins near Dundrum. James Fletcher and James Baker had burgled three separate houses; the alarm was raised by the neighbour of the final house to be broken into. The suspects were arrested at 4 am on Marlborough Road, and taken to Donnybrook Police Station. A sum of money, as well as a silver cigarette case were found on the men’s person. They have been remanded in custody, and police are trying to establish whether they are responsible for a spate of burglaries in the area in recent months.
