Riots in Swords

Police are locked in a violent struggle with striking farm workers in Swords. Trouble erupted when cattle being driven to Dublin market were blocked by strikers. Bottles and stones were thrown when the police arrived, and the windows of the police barracks have been smashed. Police are currently attempting to clear the streets with a number of baton charges.
