Master bakers national conference

Published: 23 July 1913

The fifth annual conference of Irish Master Bakers has opened in Waterford. The retiring President, Mr John Brewster, informed the gathering that the membership roll had grown in the previous year, and the products produced by the Master Bakers of Ireland each year were now worth over £1 million. Mr Brewster said there were some issues, such as flour adulteration, that they had to be careful of, but that the year had been one of high productivity, good labour relations and, with the advent of increased mechanisation, the consumer was being provided with a product that was made in the best conditions imaginable.
