Published: 21 September 1913

Louth, last year’s All Ireland Champions lost in this afternoon’s Leinster football final to a strong Wexford side. The weather was good, and despite the recent trouble in the city, it was very well attended. The first half was a tight, and low scoring encounter with Louth leading 0-2 to 0-1 at the break. Wexford were much the stronger in the second half and scored a goal when Rossiter tipped the ball into the net. Louth responded with a goal almost immediately, scored by Morgan, and then took the lead with a further goal. Wexford responded with a couple of points and then, with five minutes to go Wexford’s second half pressure paid off, and Rossiter scored his second goal of the day. The match ended Wexford 2-3, Louth 2-2. Wexford were also winners in the day’s Junior hurling final beating Meath.
