Larkin to bring ‘fiery cross’ to America

Today, in a speech made at Kilmainham, Jim Larkin announced his intention of carrying his ‘fiery cross’ to America and subsequently to France and Germany.

This announcement comes at a time when rumours abound about tensions between Larkin and other labour leaders. Reports state that relationships at Liberty Hall have become so strained that one of Larkin’s chief lieutenants has been seriously considering seceding from the ITGWU.

There are also many of the strikers themselves who have made no secret of the fact that they have had enough of the ‘wait and see’ policy of the labour leaders.
