John Redmond photograph hung in Brisbane

Published: 29 July 1913

A signed photograph of John Redmond has been hung in the offices of the Queensland Irish Association in Brisbane. The photograph was unveiled by Sir William Macgregor, the State Governor, and Mr Denham, the State Premier. Mr Denham congratulated Mr Redmond and his party on the passage of the Home Rule bill, and the use of the constitutional path which now stands in stark contrast to Sir Edward Carson’s talk of rebellion to oppose the same bill. The photograph of Redmond has been hung alongside portraits of Emmett, O’Connell, Parnell and Davitt.
