Irish Girl Murdered in India

Published: 5 September 1913

An Irish girl, named as Maria Murphy, has been found dead in India. She was travelling by train between Gorakphur and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. When the train reached its destination the body of Miss Murphy was discovered in a second class carriage. It appears that she had been robbed, and that she died from her throat being cut. While some of her possessions were later discovered in a third class carriage, there are no further clues in the hunt for her killer.
