Important archaeological find in Donegal

Published: 12 September 1913

Professor Edward Spencer Dodgson, of Jesus College, Oxford, has revealed an important discovery at Killult, Falcarragh, Co Donegal. Working with Professor Sauki Ichikawa from Japan, who is in the area learning Irish, Professor Dodgson has uncovered a peculiarly shaped stone, one face of which is covered in Ogham like characters. Professor Dodgson, along with other scholars is now busy trying to decipher the Ogham characters as he believes that they provide the clue to the whereabouts of an extensive treasure trove belonging to an ancient Irish chieftain which folklore holds in buried in the surrounding area.
